Faulty Charging

Many of the Vega+ prototypes that were sent out to testers had problems charging the batteries. Richard Pettigrew received the faulty unit that was given to Andrew Oliver at the Dizzy event, a fault that Lee Fogarty also experienced. Despite these faults, Jonathan Cauldwell has been vocal on social media claiming that there were no problems with the Vega+ prototypes.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the info. I have attempted recharging using different chargers. I've varied the chargers using output from 0.6a to 2.1a with no success. The battery output is still sitting at around 3.25v.

Ive sent my address details over to Suzanne and we'll look at getting this one investigated. Hopefully its a one off and not something that is common to them all.

Other than that, how's things? is the hassle from the 'Vega+ hate squad' calming down at all?

Kind regards

Richard Pettigrew

It happened to me a while back then started charging again...

Richard - you have the one that Andrew Oliver was going to have but it wouldn't charge - I had put that down to the charger as is started working again. Looks like a common glitch now?

Hi Rich,

If you send me your address I'll get another one sent out to you.

It would be helpful to take a look at the unit you have but I'm not sure who it should go to - probably Dave Woodfield.

So hang onto it for now.

Thanks for your support

Good morning all,

I hope you don't mind be forwarding on a fault I have experienced with the vega+ unit that I have.

I put the Vega+ on charge last night and left it face down so the brightness didn't keep everyone awake. I picked it up this morning and the screen was off. I attempted to power the unit up and only get a response from the LED on the rear of the unit.

The LED is showing green that alternates to off and back on again. Periodically after power cycling the unit, it alternates between green and red. No life from the screen. I have assumed it didn't charge but after putting it back on charge, there is no change.

Had a multimeter on the battery and its showing a consistent 3.25 volts.

I re-downloaded the firmware update and have tried to apply this again, I cant get into the boot menu to apply it. I will attempt to recharge it but I dont think its that.

Do you have any ideas on how to get the unit going again as I've really enjoyed playing with it?

Kind regards

Richard Pettigrew

Confirmation of the shilling that went on from certain individuals during this absolute scandal. What a disgrace!

Well it seems justice has prevailed for once and no surprises there to be honest what a ridiculous bit of behaviour !
